Branding is important.
Tetra Tech (formally WYG) were having an event to celebrate the business’ 60th anniversary tied in with a new office moved from Headingley to Leeds City Centre. They wanted the logo to showcase both these significant milestones and needed it to have multiple applications.
The Challenge
To create a ‘bold and bright’ visual identity using their existing colour scheme.
My Thinking
Which was to be the most prominent; iconic Leeds landmarks such as the town hall or ‘a new view’ (the strap line).
Essentially just doing a brain dump of all the ideas I had and creating some rough sketches before I went into Illustrator to create vectorised versions. These were then presented to the further team and the Head of Marketing to gain feedback and further brand development was undertaken.
The Solution
A clean modern identity where the application could easily be applied to a variety of assets as it would be for the event from email marketing, printed invitations and collateral, merchandise and room decoration.
Knowing it would need to be used in a variety of places is what influenced the idea of creating a repeating pattern from the shapes that were used to form the 60. Having a bright colourful strip that was actually used as banners for the event.
The Outcome
A modern brand identity for an event which was especially special due to its significance of combining 2 key business milestones.
Feedback was hugely positive from the event the team hosted; the brand was liked for being bright, colourful whilst also subtly conveying the 2 milestone they wanted to celebrate.
